Start with worship:

The Devo:

Psalm 84:1-2, 10a NIV “How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.”

Every Sunday when I walk through the doors of our church, my heart whispers: “better is one day”.

I take a moment and say thank you as I walk through the threshold into our sanctuary.

Thank you that I am here and for my family. Thank you that I am not hung over and that I can enter into Your presence free from shame. Thank you for your people who love me like You love me!  Thank you for showing up week after week and for ministering to me during the worship so I am free to receive the Word. Thank you for healing my body by the laying on of hands and for the revelatory teachers who drop wisdom that I may have to chew on for the week. Thank you for the hearts of servants, the prayer warriors, and the mommas and papas who pour out week after week. Thank you for Your light that breaks off the darkness. Thank you for the praises that arise in the voices of your people, shifting off the spirit of heaviness.

Aren’t you grateful?  I was born again when I heard Him speak for the first time. He said, “I set before you life and death - choose life.”  It was not until I shared at a women’s bible study as a new believer that I learned that what He spoke to me is a bible verse in Deuteronomy 30:15.

As this New Year begins, I pray that He will restore the joy of your salvation.

The glorious remembrance of the moment when He brought you from death into life. The wonderful moment when you were forgiven, set free, and sealed with His covenant.  Nothing can beat it.  No mountain top experience or valley can touch it.

Maybe it has been a rough year, or a difficult season. Maybe you, like Job, have been through an experience by which the “thing you feared the most has come upon you”.  Like He met us in this season, He will meet you there as well. He upholds us and He is faithful.

I love the nations and our brothers and sisters from all over the world. I have met many who have walked out very difficult things and the overcoming ones share the same key!

They are thankful. They praise Him in all circumstances and in all situations.

An attitude of thanksgiving can shift your atmosphere. Faith grows in the soil of gratitude. Oh, Lord that you would restore the joy! That we would remember- better is one day!

Practicing a grateful heart to God

Take a minute and play the video below in a quiet place. While the video is playing begin to, outloud, declare to God what you are grateful for about Him first and then what He has done for you or given you.
